Drug dealers in this country can be easily identified
Editor: Persons who are importing, trafficking, buying, selling and using drugs are very dangerous people; they are destroying this country and they must be stopped. Some may say Iâm treading a dangerous path, but someone needs to speak about the drug problem we are experiencing in our country.
St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is a very small country, yet persons who are involved in this business of destroying lives are being encouraged. One may say that is a bold statement, but ask yourself these questions: Who are these importers? Where do drugs like cocaine, crack and meth originate? What is the police doing about this extremely bad situation we are experiencing in SVG? The police and customs departments are responsible for our ports. Do the authorities know who these dealers are?
Homicides, theft, prostitution, burglaries, begging, drugs and drug abusers are destroying our country. One may ask can one identify these pimps who are linked to drugs and its users. âYes!â So why arenât the authorities doing anything about it? Only they know the answers to the question. Iâm sure readers of this letter can identify the drug dealers and users, but the authorities may say they are unaware of who these persons are. Itâs extremely frightening to see how these drug dealers live They get rich, powerful, famous and evil. Itâs all about them and to hell with the rest of us who are trying to live our lives looking over our shoulders simply because we are afraid. But Iâm not afraid of them.
Iâm truly hoping that the authorities put things into place to deal with these drug dealing menaces that are destroying our society. Should I call names? So that the authorities would know who these dealers are, look around the areas of Kingstown, Glen, Fountain, Arnos Vale, Fair Hall, Calliaqua and Cane Garden and see how some people are living. Use your imagination, thatâs where the answers are. If a common man like myself is aware of who these persons are then why arenât the authorities doing anything
There are numerous persons in this country who are disguising their businesses, to ensure that they are a part of certain organisation. They let their money talk for them while destroying persons lives in the name of sponsorship. Vincentians need to pay close attention to whatâs taking place right in front of them. Iâm hoping that banks, credit unions, money transfer businesses, customs, airport employees pay close attention to their workers because these dealers are encouraging workers to be good friends with them so that they can get an easy passage to do their dirty deeds. If you donât believe me then sit and think about how itâs possible to get hard drugs and dirty money to enter our country. Let me remind you that they once targeted the carnival queen. Remember everyone has their price, once you are prepared to pay. We all know money is the root of all evil.
After reading this letter would it create some sort of response? It should, because it is happening in our country. Some feel that they are untouchable but time alone will tell. Nothing lasts forever. So Iâm making the appeal to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Renold Hadaway and the Controller of Customs Miss Phylls. Donât be sidelined by persons parading around like they are clean. Look and See who these persons are, surely one day they will be revealed.
While we have a model FIU division headed by quality persons who take their jobs very seriously, there needs to be persons from this unit embedded in other divisions of the police and customs departments so that we can be rid of these persons that are destroying St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
