Who is taking care of North Leeward?

Editor: Who cares for North Leeward? This is an important question. We know that North Leeward is, like all the other constituencies, very important. It is true that we are in opposition for two consecutive terms. However, we deserve to be treated better.{{more}}

Many of us wonder who really cares for us and who represents us. The current representative is not seen or heard, while there are issues to be dealt with. The roads are overgrown with high bushes and it seems no one cares. The roads at Spring Village, Rose Bank, Sharpes in Chateaubelair and other areas are in dire need of attention. But it would seem like we are not looked upon. After all, who cares?

Nothing is going on in North Leeward. There are damaged village roads and foot paths that need repair, but are neglected. There is hardly anything for the guys on the block to do. After all who cares? Not even the current representative. For when he should be on Parliament to lambaste the government on many issues and neglect, he along with his members of parliament are boycotting Parliament. On Nice radio, he does not deal with the issues and neglect; instead they talk half-truths and waste time on things that do not have weight.

No work seems to be going on in North Leeward. After all, the many persons who supported whole heartedly the present administration are still not gaining anything to do. Are they going to wait until close to election to give attention to us? There are many more things that can be added, but I will leave it as it is. After all, people need to have food on their table.

If this situation continues and the Government waits until election is close by, they well find themselves losing bigger to the NDP in North Leeward. Come to think of it, ULP had 11 seats to win, but only managed eight. They had North Leeward in the bag, but let it go for a second time. This is likely to happen a third time if this trend continues.

I hope that we are given the attention we deserve and that someone will care for us and activities be done in North Leeward. Thank you.
