By all means, carry on!
Junior Bacchus, back in 2012, stated that it was time for Mr Eustace to resign. Brian Dorset has stepped up his anti-Eustace campaign, particularly on social media. Burton Williams has asked NDP supporters to pay attention to Mr Dorsetâs pronouncements, particularly since his election prediction was spot on, and recently the long silent Sir James Mitchell has stated that the “shelf lifeâ of Mr Eustace is done. I absolutely loved the “fresh airâ where youâre housing the dead analogy.
Aspiring leader St Clair Leacock said recently on radio that there is no doubt that if there is a general election in 2020, the NDP would have a new leader, but if there is one in the short term, Mr Eustace will be the one to lead the party into those elections. This begs the question: Is it that the NDP is waiting for the outcome of the hearing of the election petitions before it deals with its most obvious and glaring problem of leadership? Are they actually hoping for fresh elections soon? But Mr Leacock also stated that Mr Eustace will have to leave on his own terms. What if he does not want to leave? Will he be pushed? Whither those “fresh legsâ?
I say leave Mr Eustace alone. A boxer knocked out four times, on his third rematch, must be thinking itâs time to hang up his gloves. Itâs only obvious that his opponent is much more adept at the sport than he is, and heâs not getting any younger, fitter, or better! Because to carry on only makes for “goodâ entertainment, though many will cringe at each blow that is landed, and the eventual result of another defeat would not come as a surprise. Hopefully, he wonât have to be carried from the arena. At some point the madness must end; but by all means, carry on!
