West Indies cricket needs Sir Viv

Editor: Please permit a space in your column to express my views about the West Indies Cricket Board and the team.

Having read about the hiring of Sir Vivian Richards as an ICC cricket umpire, I must admit that I particularly liked the decision, but I really wanted Sir Viv to be hired by the West Indies Cricket Board,{{more}} in order to help the current batsmen on the West Indies cricket team.

The current batsmen are creating so many nightmares that simply need to be addressed. I have actually noticed the rapid decline in their batting and something should be done in order to eradicate that serious problem.

The hiring of Sir Viv to expose his vast knowledge of batsmanship to these current batsmen would have been a very big boost and the improvement of West Indies cricket; but he is not really considered and completely neglected by the cricket board and West Indies batting crisis is going to remain the same way for a long time.
