Pastor’s teachings must be mixed up

EDITOR: Kindly grant me the space in your paper to express my views on a certain matter.

In conversation with a certain pastor, I was made to understand that God gave the commandments to the Jews, but that none of them were able to keep them, so under a different dispensation now, we don’t have to attempt to do the impossible.{{more}} Now, if this is not painting God as a crazy person, I don’t see what else does.

If I give you a task to do that I know you are not capable of doing, then something is wrong with me, not with you. This pastor must have been mixing up the story of Rumpelstiltskin with his teachings. Rumpelstiltskin was given straw to spin into gold, but not by God.

Exodus 31:18 clearly identifies God as the giver of the 10 commandments. Here it says that God gave Moses, after he had finished speaking to him, two tables of testimony – tables of stone, written with His fingers. The very same testimony that the psalmist aptly describes this way. “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure making wise the simple.” Psalms 19 :7.

Satan’s sneak attack on God’s character is perpetrated by these so-called pastors, whom Jude portrays as ungodly men who have crept in unawares, turning the Grace of God into lasciviousness. Lasciviousness in any language means lawlessness. Paul, writing to the Thessalonians in his second letter, states that rejection of the truth would lead to God sending these men strong delusions that they may believe a lie and be damned, verses 8-11 paraphrased.

Let me here do a spiritual incision, rightly dividing the word of truth. Romans 8 speaks of two forces which are diametrically opposed to each other, constantly at war in the lives of the Christian. Let’s take it up at verse 3: “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, condemned sin in the flesh:

“That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

“For to be carnal minded is death; but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace.

“Because the carnal mind is at enmity with God; for it is not subject to the will of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN IT BE.

“So then they that are in the flesh CANNOT PLEASE GOD.

“But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, If so the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS.” (No Christian).

My friend asked me if I ever read Galatians, so here goes Mr Pastor. Galatians 5: 16 (IN YOUR FACE) “Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” There is so much more to say, but I implore Mr Pastor to pray this prayer found in the Psalms “Open thou mine eyes that I might behold wondrous things out of thy law.”
