Hooliganism in the church of God

Editor, We are told in Leviticus 26: 22 to Reverence his Sanctuary for I am the Lord. Maybe at the funeral service of the late E G Lynch that verse meant nothing to those who were involved in such an ungodly and unruly behaviour at the funeral service.{{more}}
It is unthinkable that in the house of God we would see such hooliganism displayed and what is more hurtful is the condoning of such behaviour by some Christians and the leadership and members of the Opposition NDP. For the leader and deputy to say that NDP has no shame about what took place is indeed unthinkable for a leader who says he wants a kinder and gentler society. Well believe you me the actions displayed were far from kinder and gentler.
It also shows the heart of man that they would allow themselves to go into the house of the Lord with such unruly behaviour. Of course Rom 13:1 admonishes, âLet every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.â Thus we have to respect the authority of both God and man. In the house of the Lord there ought to be a submission to the powers of God as his presence was there and also there ought to have been a respect for the leader of the land.
There could not be any justification whatsoever for such unruly behaviour. Of course, if members of the NDP had an issue with the Prime Minister, they could have done it outside of the house of God. Of course, the leadership of the NDP did not it seems, enter into the feelings of the son who appealed for calmness and ask that his father be given the respect he deserves.
Of course, the silence of both the leadership of NDP and the priest who was conducting the service is of great concern. It shows how we have allowed politics, anger, revenge and hatred to be placed over love and forgiveness. Maybe the priest forgot the verse in Leviticus 26: 22. For nowhere should a priest allow such behaviour to take place. It would have been interesting to know if someone came in the church while he was having his regular service and were obstructing the service, if he would have remained silent. Indeed I am certain all efforts including the calling of the police would have been made to bring the service to normalcy.
The action, while it shows the wickedness of man’s heart, it also shows the lack of respect for God by those who committed such a wicked act. The leadership of the NDP owes the children of the late E G Lynch and apology, for their action which intended to hurt the PM has indeed hurt mostly the children of the late E.G. Lynch. For if we ought to sit in the shoes of the children at that time I wondered how we would have felt.
The priest also owes a public apology to the children. I am waiting and so is the general public for a public published apology from both the priest who conducted the service and also from the leadership of the NDP to the children of the late E G Lynch.
According to the words of the son, it is not about politics. We have by our actions in the house of the lord invited the wrath of God upon our lives. We therefore as a people need to do as Chronicles 7: 14 says: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
May God help us to repent and turn to him? Let us not allow politics to invite the wrath of God upon this nation. Let us be honest with ourselves even if we support NDP, such behaviour gives this country a bad name and has surely made God angry. This would invite the wrath of God except we repent.
