Fri Jul 31, 2014

Editor, Congratulations to the headmistress of the Girls’ High School (GHS), Mrs Andrea Keizer Bowman, for serving 10 years at the helm of this auspicious institution. Mrs Bowman took up this appointment in August 2004, and has steered the school on a successful route in various endeavours. Thanks, Mrs Bowman, and all the best in the future.{{more}}

The school has also been recently mentioned in association with the passing of the late Vernice Haynes of Glen, who attended the Calliaqua School, where she won a scholarship to the Girls’ High School, and the late Irma Norris of New Montrose, who taught at the GHS. They shared their skills with many.

These are all outstanding educators, community and nation builders. Many graduates of the GHS school are grateful for the tradition handed down to them of lifelong values. The inculcation of basic common sense, decency, dignity, integrity, respect and responsibility. The heritage continues to be one of making positive contributions to the nation and the world. Keep up the good work.

Happy Emancipation day !!
