Unforgettable teachers
Fri Jul 4, 2014
Editor: While I read your article on the honouring of Mr F. I. Jack by the St Vincent Grammar School, nostalgia set in.I concluded that I ought to write this piece to inform all teachers, and those who intend to be, that when all the dust is settled,{{more}} no student remembers whatâs in many books; but they never forget the energy, compassion and commitment of a teacher.
There are very few teachers I continue to call with pride âMy Teacherâ. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of them, in particular, Mr F. I. Jack, Mrs Jean Walker and Mrs Jeanette France. Teachers extraordinaire, loving, caring and kind. As my schoolmate, Mr Ronald Browne, eulogized: âThey donât make them anymore.â

PS: I hope Mr Curtis King, Headmaster (ag) mentioned that Mr F.I. Jack taught him. We were in every class together up to leaving school in1983, along with Trevor âThird Worldâ De Shong (Those were the days of no graduation).
