Is the Carnival bar on Bay Street breaking a traffic law?

Fri Jul 4, 2014

Editor: There is a red and white Carnival bar that has been constructed at Lower Bay Street, which I suspect is breaking some sort of traffic law.{{more}}

Firstly, it has been built right on the corner (I know you are not allowed to park closer than 15 feet to a corner, but I don’t know what is the rule for the construction of buildings near to corners); secondly, the bar takes up the sidewalk, so pedestrians are forced to walk in the road on this busy street; thirdly, its ‘verandah’ extends into the road so far that it goes past one of the white blocks for the pedestrian crossing.

I am calling on the Traffic Department of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and the Physical Planning Department to look into the placement of this bar.
