Congratulations to CPEA students
Fri Jun 27, 2014
Editor: Many congratulations to the boys and girls who passed the CPEA and special congratulations to the many rural schools that did exceptionally well. For the Prep and other town primary school to not take the top positions is indeed something unaccustomed. I know there would be debate on the new assessment and also the performance of some rural schools over the popular town schools.{{more}}
Education, we know, is on the up and many opportunities are available. At the Technical Institute in Barrouallie, there are opportunities for persons to further their education by registering to do some of the many courses offered at this institute. Of course, there must be a registration fee, which is $150.00.
To those who have not done so well academically and want a second chance to develop themselves educationally, which is one of the ways out of poverty, here is an opportunity to do so. They offer many courses such as: electrical installation, data operations, housekeeping, front office operations, food preparation and food and beverage service.
Of course, it is important that persons desirous of attending must first be registered, and to do so, a person would have to be 16 years plus and reach at least form three level. We must not forget that having the right attitude is important.
I am certain that the institute would welcome your call and support. They can, of course, be contacted at telephone number: 456 7975 or you can email: bar.tech@hotmail.com. This institute is a good opportunity to develop oneself and of course, it is a recognized institution.
Finally, it is heartening to know that some inmates at the Belle Isle Correctional Facility wrote English and Maths at the CXC sponsored programme, CCSLC. The exams were done on the 16th and 17th of June. The tutors, as well as the inmates, are eagerly awaiting their results. Indeed a step in the right direction.
