It’s time to take stock

Editor: We are in the heat of the carnival. It is considered a time for revelry, jumping up and drinking of alcohol, as well as a time for fun and pleasure. Sadly, in doing so many are selling their dignity, self-worth and respect.{{more}}
In a previous article, I mentioned that women see themselves as sex objects by the way they carry themselves and what they get involved in. You donât have to look far to see the way women these days dress, especially now it is carnival time. They use these activities to dress in the most outrageous way. It is shameful to see many ladies dressed almost naked, esposing almost the entire body.
While they are dressed in that way, the men are fully clothed. During carnival, much looseness goes on in the name of enjoyment. We must face it honestly; there is a price to pay for what we consider fun and enjoyment. Think of the many pregnancies occurring during this period, despite the education and distribution of condoms. This occurrence will bring poverty and hardship to many, not to mention abandonment of children. There would also be sexually abuse and crimes.
It is sad when parents dress their children in the same half-naked manner. When they do, are they not sending the wrong signals to the young people and children that this is the accepted way of dressing? When this message is conveyed, how can we guide our children in the right way? How can we as parents expect our children not to be sexually active at an early age? How can you tell a child to be dressed modestly, when as a child, the mothers dressed their daughters in the shortest dresses and in a sexually revealing way? How can we as parents tell our daughters to dress decently and how can they know the right and decent way to dress? How can you be angry with a man who looks at your daughters sexually, when you encouraged it by the way you dressed your daughter and when as a mother she herself dressed in a sexually appealing way.
It is time we take stock of our lives and realize we are contributing to the moral decay of this nation and breakdown in the home and society and, by extension, the nation.
