Have we become insensitive to other people’s feelings?

EDITOR: I take this opportunity to express my feelings about what see from time to time posted on Facebook, sorry, I mean Commess Book. Modern technology is there to make life easier for us in terms of acquiring information to help us. However, in everything there is good and bad, depending on how you use it; but it appears that the more things change, the more they remain the same and seem to be getting worse. Last Wednesday, there was an accident in Layou involving two children who eventually lost their lives.{{more}}
 
It was so sad! All along, I was lamenting the fact that we need to protect our children and I will continue along that vein. There was no respect for the victims or their relatives. I am referring to the kinds of photographs that were posted on Facebook, I mean Commess Book. I am wondering if the shoe was on the other foot, if those persons would have liked that to be done to them. On the night of Sunday, May 27, there was another accident on the Colonarie road, where, unfortunately, a lady died. Would you believe the same offence was committed again?

I think that the general public knows what I am talking about. What is really wrong with our people? Have we become so insensitive to other people’s feelings? Once it has not happened to us, we don’t seem to be concerned or we don’t care. Remember once you are alive, life is going to get you one way or the other, so it’s today for me and tomorrow for you. So, be warned! On behalf of myself and my family I take this opportunity to extend our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones due to the recent vehicular accidents. May you find comfort in this most difficult time in your lives. To the drivers of these vehicles I say, it might not have been your fault but it has happened, so I hope valuable lessons have been learned. As a driver myself, I am asking all motorists to drive carefully and cautiously, especially the minivan drivers. Sometimes, I wonder if they are working with the fire department, but that is for another article.
