A contrite apology perhaps?

Editor: As a native Vincentian who has resided in New York City, I can attest that the NYPD do not erect barricades frivolously. If you choose to disregard a police barricade you will be dealt with firmly.{{more}} They have an obligation to protect little over 8 and a half million people from potential terrorist attacks. They do not take that responsibility lightly after 9/11/2001.

There was an established checkpoint through which all seeking entrance to the building, diplomatic personnel as well as visitors with legitimate business, were required to enter. Their ID would be checked and, if authorized, would be allowed to enter. Does an ambassador whose father happens to be the current Prime Minister of his country feel immune from such formalities? A contrite apology might be appropriate.
