We should have more judges like Justice Bruce-Lyle

31.MAY.11

Editor: I refer to your front page story on Friday, May 27. Thank God for judges like Justice Frederick Bruce-Lyle who put away this old criminal for a long time. He is nothing but a child molester and a disgusting pervert that tried to escape.{{more}} That man went to a school and committed such a horrible crime on a young child. Vincentians need to come forward when their children are raped; some of them do not tell of these sort of crimes on their children because of different situations and reasons in the household.

As I was reading what was said in the courts, I felt sad, especially because of the lies the old criminal was telling. Every time I read the paper online, I am reading about some rape against a very young child; that is so sad.

I am glad that he is all over the paper; it might send a message to the next child molester. How on God’s earth these older men feel that they can rape someone’s child and get away with it? They are very sick men.

I am hoping that the child gets the help she needs; she is at an age that she will remember what that dirty pervert did. I remember as a teenager the same thing happened to a young child on the same street where I used to live.

However, they caught him and locked him up; he was a rapist even before that child was raped. He lived on the same street.

SVG should have more judges like Mr. Justice Frederick Bruce-Lyle. Well, let the rapist Oscar Charles be in prison for the whole 15 years. I wish it could have been more.

The child’s mental and emotional health is not 15 years; it is a lifetime of emotional problems. Why don’t these grown old men leave these young girls alone and find their size in women? What is wrong with Viincentian men? Even visitors are affected by their behaviour; it is wrong.

This is all I have to say in this situation. I wish the young child all the best and good health, and I hope that she is getting some help with the trauma she went through.
