GHS – An exemplary Institution

13.MAY.11

Editor: I congratulate the Girls’ High School’s series of activities to mark its centenary anniversary. It was a brilliant initiative on the part of the organising committee to lionise former students of the calibre of Mrs. Norma Keizer, Dr. Joyce Providence Toney, Dr. Betty Boyea King, Mrs.Carteel Trotman, and many more.{{more}}

Mrs. Keizer manned the Girls’ High School in her capacity as Headmistress for years with distinction. Mrs. Trotman of Trotman’s Electronics fame was from reliable sources a brilliant product at the school. Today in her eighties, she still manages the Trotman’s business enterprise with pride and dexterity.

Drs. King and Toney are excellent orators; small wonder the former placed tremendous emphasis on the use of Standard English in SVG on a recent television programme of the G.H.S.

Last Saturday, my friend Ashley and I stood spell bound as we watched hundreds of former students from different era march proudly through the streets of Kingstown on their way to Victoria Park for another activity. G.H.S is indeed simply exemplary.
