Water is life. No water No life

EDITOR: In the Bible, when water is referred to as âLiving Waterâ, it is speaking about GOD.
This can be seen in Jeremiah 2:13 which states: âFor my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters â¦â{{more}}
In this chapter, we can see how water is symbolic of life. Water is mentioned literally, but has a spiritual aspect.
Later in the chapter, Jeremiah 2:18 states âAnd now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? Or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?â.
GOD speaking through the Prophet Jeremiah stated that his people had forsaken him and gone down to Egypt to follow the Egyptiansâ way of life or from context âto drink the waters of Sihor and the waters of the river of Assyriaâ. GODâs people, the children of Israel, had forsaken him because they were impatient for God to supply their needs, and so they went to Egypt where we can say Egyptians had a âfast way of lifeâ.
As water is important in sustaining life physically, it is also important in growth of your Spiritual life, and what better water can you get than the Living Water, GOD!
Water also signifies blessings. Isaiah12:3 states âtherefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvationâ. The Prophet Isaiah was thanking God for his water of salvation. The water of salvation is the mercies of God. When an individual decides to surrender to God and accepting the âLiving Waterâ, they are drawing from the wells of salvation and in return receiving the blessing of salvation.
Isaiah 44:3 states: âI will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspringâ.
In this context, water is used to pour on the thirst of the spirit, someone that wants more from God. The thirsting can signify two things, either the thirsting for the Holy Spirit or the longing for abundant blessings of God.
The dry ground speaks of a place that is dead or the dryness of an individualâs heart. However, when the floods of God come on the dry ground of our hearts, the ground or the spiritual life of that person will burst open in marvelous fertility, producing spiritual maturity as the seed of God germinates in their lives, due to your spiritual maturity from the waters of God. The people that you minister to will be blessed, and as you minister the Lord will pour out abundant blessings upon your life.
With fertile grounds, the seeds in our heart (the word of God) will grow ensuring a bigger, better and more prosperous future of ones spiritual life, once they drink the Living Water. So have a sip of the Living water and experience the everlasting life it brings.
