Put your trust in the Lord!

Tue, Oct 12, 2010

EDITOR: My earnest hope is that you will take the time to read this letter, which I have sent with the fervent prayer that the contents hereof will invoke in your hearts a serious desire for reflection, on matters relating to your relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ in terms of His promise of eternal redemption to you personally and to your household by virtue of his sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary.{{more}}

I am sure this subject is not unfamiliar to you in a general way. But my concern for you is that it might find a specific application to your personal life.

I write from the perspective of one who has had experiential knowledge of sins forgiven, and who holds the promise of eternal life in Christ in accordance with His repeated statements in the Gospels and abundant confirmation in the writings of his apostles. Our Lord said:

“The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”- Luke 19:10

“I have some that you may have life and that more abundantly.”

– John 10:10

“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give unto them eternal life, and they will never perish.” – John 10:27-28

Paul writes: “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God; being justified by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” -Romans 3:23-24

Peter writes: “(Christ) bore our sins in his own body upon the tree, that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes ye were healed” – 1 Peter 2:24

John writes: “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

There is no question or doubt about the promise of our Lord that he will return for those who have put their trust in Him. Our obligation is that we be ready for him when he comes. It is my fervent prayer that you will accept his gift of salvation today with the guarantee of eternal life which he offers unconditionally.
