The Director of Audit did the right thing

Fri, Aug 20, 2010

Editor: As a retired Public Servant, I must congratulate the Director Of Audit for living up to the responsibility of his Office. The deceased Senator St.Clair Robinson used to tell his young policemen:- “DO RIGHT and fear no man. DON’T WRITE and fear no woman”.{{more}} It is time that we as a people let politicians know where to get off.

I cannot help mentioning auditors like Hugh Hamlet, Saville Cummings, Fred Providence and others. They did their work humbly but without fear or favour.

Public Servants, your duties are to serve the PUBLIC and not to be in the back-pockets of politians. PUBLIC SERVANTS, WHEN THEY ACCEPT JOBS, should not allow POLITICIANS to run their offices. Public Servants can be jailed. Politicians hardly suffer.
