What would you give in exchange for your soul?
Editor: âThe very highest duty of the States, when they entered into the Union under the constitution, was to protect all persons within their boundaries in the enjoyment of these unalienable rights [Religious liberty, life and private property] with which they were endowed by Creator.â A definition of the term Unalienable p.4 US v. I noticed recently that there is an influx of articles in newspapers and programmes on T.V. selling Cuba, Venezuela and ALBA together in one package. And I asked myself, did we, as a nation, not have friendly relations with Cuba and Venezuela before ALBA? Havenât we received health care, scholarship programmes through these countries before ALBA? Didnât we have Cuban nurses in our local hospital and clinics before ALBA? Yes, we did, so what is this push in selling these countries with ALBA? Does it mean in order for us to continue having this social or humanitarian aid we MUST accept ALBA? No! We donât! Every year through the LIONS CLUB and different clubs in SVG, volunteers come in to St. Vincent to assist with such humanitarian work.
I was sponsored by a Canadian family to further my secondary education and Iâm sure that there are many others who received scholarships to further their education from different means other than CUBA and VENEZUELA.
We donât have to as a nation join the path to building the road to socialism to receive medical attention or receive a scholarship. The God who formed man out of the dust and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life knows that we have needs. WE DONâT HAVE TO ACCEPT WRONG FOR OUR SOCIAL NEEDS TO BE MET. THAT IS SATANIC! No foreign or local government should seek to play upon the emotions and sensitivity of the people to accomplish their own selfish desire, which is for âALBA to emerge as a world power in the south, and from Latin American and the Caribbean.â
As the sovereign of the state we should not have to make a choice like this. To ask such from a people – the protection of your rights and freedom for material gain – is for that government to be stepping out of line, for their sole responsibility is the protection of such. Remember, the issue with poverty (proper health care and education) relates to manâs right to private property and its enjoyment and his right to life; this is the real heart of the matter. It is not waging war against the capitalist.
Accepting ALBA is accepting COMMUNISIM/SOCIALISM which advocates in theory and behaviour that YOUR RIGHTS come from man. This we see through ALBAâs behaviour towards the people – give me your
allegiance and you will receive all the goodies that I have to offer. The Laws in a communist state also transgress the rights of man. Oh, what would you give in exchange for your souls?
