Take warning, Ralph, Julian must go now!

11.DEC.09

Editor: The referendum held on November 25, 2009, was not a repudiation against the Unity Labour Party administration, but one against Ralph Gonsalves, especially Julian Francis and the family dynasty. Vincentians are fed up of the name-calling and abuse they have being receiving from Ralph Gonsalves.{{more}}

Julian needs to resign from parliament and also as general secretary of the Unity Labour party and be appointed as PRO of the ULP. This move will help rebuild the confidence lost in Ralph. Also some of the ministers need to do the right thing if they are honest with themselves and the party and resign.

Jomo Thomas is the right candidate for West Kingstown. He will win Cummings, who I assure you will be the worst minister West Kingstown will ever see. Ralph Gonsalves is the right man to take us through these challenging times for he has the country’s best interest at heart, but is too childish when he is attacked. This is what politics is all about.

Ralph must be given credit for the referendum for it was the fist time in our history the ordinary man had an opportunity to discuss and know about our constitution. History will judge Ralph well on these and the many other things he has accomplished in this country: the Education Revolution, Housing, the International airport and the Buccament Resort. For the first time in our history, St Vincent is having a five star hotel. ULP must be given credit.

I have always learnt in politics that you could do the world of projects for the people and they will not appreciate it if their money value is being eroded and if you hurl insults at them. Take warning, Ralph, for the love of country and party, do the right thing and make some drastic internal changes. Julian must go.
