Frenches Christmas Social – an enjoyable experience

Editor: On behalf of myself, Randy Kirby and all the players that took part in the X-Mas Day Tournament, we wish to thank the National Lottery and Senator Julian Francis for their joint sponsorship, as this went a long way in ensuring a pleasurable day.{{more}}

We also extend thanks to Selwyn Prescod, of THE LIME, for donating the winners Plaque which was done locally by a talented artist, and to Osborne Browne, of the NSC, for the use of the Grammar School Playing Field.

Congratulations to Avenues who entered for the first time and deservedly won the LIME Plaque after demolishing last year’s Champions Upstreet in an earlier round before overcoming Jebelle in the final. This team came prepared to win in both attire and spirit and played like champions throughout in a friendly spirit, which in turn signified the scope of the Tournament.

This year was among the best ever, as the games were played in the true Christmas spirit, with all players enjoying the day.

A hearty thanks to all the players and supporters for sharing in a truly memorable occasion, and we now look forward to 2009 and, if possible, an even better tournament, with the best team winning again.
