Eustace should resign as leader of the Opposition

22.AUG.08

Editor: In continuing the debate on Arnhim Eustace’s status as NDP leader, I draw the attention of Vincentians to some pertinent facts.

Mr. Eustace never toiled in the Political Vineyard as previous leaders, like Sir James Mitchell.{{more}} His position is a given one. Hence, since there is a crisis of confidence in his leadership, he ought to resign.

Over ninety per cent of NDP supporters say Mr. Eustace is either weak, lack lustre, lazy, uninspiring, unable to motivate people, unable to stir confidence amongst supporters, etc. They state his performance in parliament is very poor and tactless. NDP supporters accustomed to Sir James Mitchell’s and Joshua’s dynamism mourn over the hopelessness in the party. They groan over the party being rudderless with a captain.

Mr. Eustace’s persona is equated to Clyde Mascoll of Barbados, who was removed by the DLP with the recall of David Thompson – who won the recent general elections and is now Prime Minister. The sum conclusion is Sir James Mitchell should return to lead the party to victory.
