Eustace, lead from the front!

01.June.07

EDITOR: This Country seems to be improving with its development over the last five years in sectors like construction, education, health care, tourism and its natural resources – its people.

Everyone seems to be trying their best in one way or the other, but I have a problem with the executives, when I say executives, I mean the ULP and some of its policies, like the foreign policy and the way the economy seems to be going. {{more}} We are being told that things are good by our Prime Minister and his team, and Mr. Eustace who is an Economist is saying nothing is happening in terms of the economy, and if he say so, is because he speaks with some authority.

Everything in this Country is so political, the Port Authority is trying their best to improve and enhance the services they offer; a service which I think needed to be improved on, so I welcome it. But some persons in this country want to keep us back, imagine they are saying $1.00 is too much to pay for quality services. When I saw the NDP protest against this, I was surprised and disappointed with the NDP’s leadership. Dr. Friday spoke with passion and one has to remember that he’s from Bequia; and for someone who lived overseas, he should know that this kind of service is paid for elsewhere, so Doc, I’m not supporting you – pay the $1.00.

Miss Ollivierre is nowhere so she doesn’t care about SVG. Senator Cummings and Leacock – they are using this for political mileage – this won’t get you anywhere. Mr. Eustace is being led in the wrong direction with this issue, come on Mr. Eustace, lead, you must not be led by detractors, put SVG first that’s what we expect from you. Persons like Frank DaSilva, Junior Bacchus, Dr. Friday and those who don’t care are saying we should not pay for top quality service when they know it’s worthwhile. This country will benefit, so let’s not play politics with this country’s development. Remember, all will benefit in the long run.

I thank you!
