Editor: There is little doubt that Kingstown is much cleaner than it once was.

Our Capital, Kingstown, can be rated amongst some of the cleanest in the Caribbean and beyond, including New York. However, there is an area of concern which needs to be looked at and it is the lower Middle Street area from Bonadie Supermarket No.1. right down to the end of Gonsalves Liquors.{{more}}

The drain that runs through that area is seldom dry and it always carries a stench. Situated along that area are the famous Unity Bakery and other business places.

It is not just unsightly, but unhealthy. I therefore urge the authorities to do something urgently to combact this problem and avoid negative impact on this our beautiful capital.

Let us ensure that our town remains amongst the cleanest in the world.
