Intoxicated Chauncey man bonded for abusing his ex
A Chauncey man who slapped and beat his ex-girlfriend about her body while intoxicated, leaving her with a swollen face and hands, was bonded for nine months.
Fidel Francois, 32, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Tammika McKenzie, on March 23, 2026 where he pleaded guilty that on March 20, 2026 at Chauncey he assaulted Kittanna Cadougan, 23, of Chauncey causing actual bodily harm.
According to the facts, Cadougan and Francois had been in a relationship for over nine months. The two had also been involved in many verbal and physical altercations before, but nothing was ever reported to the police.
At about 9:10 p.m on the date in question Francois and Cadougan had just returned from Kingstown and stopped off at “Rasto Bar” located in Chauncey, because Cadougan had promised Francois that she would give him money to get some drinks.
She also had stopped to pick up her children from her mother. However, since Cadougan had been waiting for a while, Francois went and fetched the children for her.
Cadougan then gave Francois the money to get the drinks as promised, then left and went home. Upon arrival, Cadougan began to clean her house which was in a bit of a mess.
