Set Programme concludes 12th cycle, 200 accepted for 2026 intake
MORE THAN 100 participants who comprised cohort 12 of the Support for Education and Training (SET) Programme participated in a closing ceremony on March 27, 2026. As this group concluded their stint on the Taiwan-supported programme, a new group of 200 young people have been accepted for the 2026 cycle.
Among those present at the closing ceremony were Taiwan’s Ambassador to St Vincent and the Grenadines, Fiona Huei-Chun Fan, and Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday, who delivered the feature address.
The prime minister expressed appreciation for Taiwan’s shared vision of cherishing youth as key to national development and long-standing support for SET as well as relative youth programmes, assisting young Vincentians to prepare for their next stage of life. The government promised to establish a dedicated agency to provide assistance and guidance for youth in finding employment and opportunities for scholarships, besides creating a strong economy providing jobs, training and internship.
