NSPD honours past president in annual walk
THE NATIONAL Society of Persons with Disabilities (NSPD) in St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) held its annual Melanie McKenzie Educational and Medical Fund Walk on Friday, March 27, 2026.The event formed part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and provide support for persons living with disabilities across the country.
The walk commenced at the Financial Complex Building in Kingstown and concluded at the Old Anglican School where the NSPD has its headquarters and workshop for its members. Participants were led by the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Band which not only ensured safe passage along the route, but also provided musical support.
In an interview with SEARCHLIGHT,Vice President of the NSPD, Terrance Davis, spoke about the significance and history of the initiative. He explained, “this walk has been going on over a number of years, Melanie Mckenzie being one of our former presidents of the organisation”.
