Man Sentenced After Lodging Knife in Victim’s Eye
GRIFFITH JR. GLASGOW will spend the next seven years of his life in prison after lodging a knife blade into another man’s eye.
Glasgow appeared at the High Court before Justice Rickie Burnett last Friday, March 27, 2026 where he was sentenced to prison for seven years, one month and seven days, alongside five years of counselling for wounding Anthony Rodriguez. The offence occurred on December 16, 2022 at Glenside.
Glasgow, who was 23- yearsold at the time of the offence, had also been charged with wounding Rodriguez with intent. A nine-member jury found him not guilty of that offence, but guilty of wounding. During the facts, Justice Burnett informed that the offence stemmed from a dispute and altercation between both men, which resulted in a knife blade being lodged in the socket of Rodriguez’s left eye.
Rodriguez was rushed to hospital but the injury caused him to permanently lose sight in the eye. Glasgow’s social inquiry report revealed that he was employed as a construction worker prior to being in custody. However, during his teenage years, he began smoking marijuana and has been doing so ever since.
