Efforts underway to ensure safe communities, says PM Friday
PRIME MINISTER, Dr. Godwin Friday, has issued a statement addressing a series of recent incidents of violence, public disorder, and growing concerns about community safety across the nation, and sought to reassure the nation that things are being done about it.
His remarks follows a spate of violent incidents involving people of varying ages, but primarily young persons, in different parts of the state.
In his address, the prime minister pointed to a number of specific incidents that have raised alarm among citizens.
“Recently, we have seen homicides, a mini van overturned in Overland…and also disturbing incidents involving young people,” he stated. Underscoring the seriousness of the issues confronting the nation at this time, Dr. Friday emphasized that the current situation is cause for significant concern, noting that the safety and well-being of citizens must remain a top priority for his administration.
