Agriculture and Fisheries Census gets going
The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is undertaking a six-month Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) from March 9, 2026.
The Census, which runs until October, 2026, will collect essential information on farms, fisheries, livestock, land use, and household participation in agriculture, providing updated data to inform national planning, policy development, and the efficient allocation of resources across the sector.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines last conducted a Census of Agriculture and Fisheries in 2000, but this will be the first fisheries census ever conducted.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation; and the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine and Land Conservation, and Climate Resilience, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Private Sector Development, encourages all farmers, livestock owners, fishers, and agriculture-based households to participate fully in this important national exercise.
All information collected will be treated as strictly confidential and used solely for statistical and planning purposes, it assures.
