Airports targetted for upgrades and expansion

TOTAL OF $62 million is allocated in the 2026 Budget, for airport development across St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

Word of this came from Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday, as he delivered the Budget address last Monday, February 9, 2026.

Of this total sum $14 million is to be spent on works at the Argyle International Airport this year which was officially opened on February 14, 2017 by the ULP administration.

Speaking in Parliament on Monday, Dr. Friday said “It is distressing to note that the runway at the AIA has been experiencing surface challenges in some areas, for a long time now.”
