Runway maintenance works scheduled for J.F. Mitchell Airport
AIRPORT AUTHORITIES have advised the public that as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the highest standards of aviation safety and operational reliability, essential runway maintenance works are scheduled to take place at the J.F.Mitchell Airport (JFM), in Bequia.
The airport will therefore be closed to all flight operations, a release states. The specific closure dates are from Friday February 6, 2026 to Tuesday, February 17, 2026. These works form a critical part of routine airport maintenance and are necessary to ensure the continued safe movement of aircraft serving JFM Airport, the release issued from the Argyle International Airport also states. “Every effort is being made by AIA management and the Civil Aviation department, to work closely with contractors, airlines, and relevant stakeholders to manage the works safely and efficiently.
Safety and timeliness, remain the foremost priority throughout the duration of the project.
Upon completion, the improved runway will enhance operational resilience and support JFM’s vital air connectivity, benefiting tourism, commerce, and essential services.”
