Vincentian found hanging in Antigua

VINCENTIAN, MICHAELIA RENEISHA WILLIAMS, a woman who was described by her neighbours as quiet and reserved, was said to be found hanging in her Jennings, Antigua home on January 20, 2026.

Reports are that Williams’ boyfriend Akim Bacchus, also a Vincentian, found her hanging by a strap from the ceiling of their home.

Bacchus told a media outlet in Antigua that he found Williams hanging when he returned from work and he quickly took the strap from around her neck while his friend called the police.

Early indications suggest suicide, but law enforcement officials are actively investigating the incident.
