Unemployed persons could receive a benefit from the NIS

UNEMPLOYED PERSONS in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), may be able to receive benefits from the National Insurance Services (NIS) at some point in the future.

Executive Director of the NIS, Stewart Haynes, commenting briefly about this possibility on WEFM’s Issue at Hand programme on Sunday, January 25, 2026 said a feasibility study for this possibility is being done during the 13th actuarial review which should be completed by June this year.

Haynes said discussions have already been held with Prime Minister Dr Godwin Friday, about this possibility.
