Youth takes out his jealousy on rival’s glass windows
AYOUNG MAN, who broke his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend’s glass window and damaged his tiles on Christmas night was given a suspended sentence and ordered to pay compensation.
Dernick George, 20, of Old Montrose appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Tammika Mckenzie, where he was ordered to pay compensation and given a suspended sentence for damage to property.
George pleaded guilty that on December, 25 2025 at Old Montrose, without lawful excuse he damaged one 2×2 aluminum and glass window valued EC$266.00; one 3×3 aluminum and glass window valued EC$380.00; and three ceramic tiles valued EC$24.00- a total value EC$664.00 the property of an Old Montrose resident with the intention to damage such property.
The facts are that the virtual complainant is in a relationship with George’s ex-girlfriend, and they both occupy a flat, unpainted concrete house.
On December 25, 2025 about 10:00 p.m the virtual complainant secured his home by closing all the windows and doors before he and his girlfriend went to bed.
