Murder-accused to be back in court February 2
A MAN WHO is alleged to have killed his nephew during an argument is expected back at the Serious Offences Court for his second court appearance on February, 2 2026.
Villa resident 39-yearold Brandon Child, was stabbed at his home at Villa on December, 29 2025 and died on his way to hospital. A report from the police said he received a stab would to the left side of his chest.
He was the 40th person to die violently in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in 2025.
Following the stabbing incident the police detained and later charged Diamond resident, Emmanuel Matthews, a 59-year-old labourer with the offense of murder.
Matthews appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday, December, 31 2025 and was remanded to prison. When he next appears in court on February, 2 2026, Detective Constable 227 Jemmy Arthur is expected to be ready to proceed with the case against Matthews.
Child will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January, 13 2026 after a funeral service at the Calliaqua Anglican Church.
