International delegates denounce American aggression towards Venezuela
ABOUT 1,000 PERSONS from 50 countries who participated in ‘The Assembly of the Peoples for the Sovereignty and Peace of Our America’ have denounced US aggression against Venezuela.
The delegates, which included 14 Vincentians at the forum held in the Autonomous Institute of National Army Circle (Instituto Autonomo Circulo Fuerza Armada) in Caracas, has labelled the actions by the US president, Donald Trump, as one which “violates the United Nations Charter, [and] the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace as approved by CELAC, aimed at protecting the peoples of the Caribbean against all acts of aggression as is being currently exhibited by the United States of America.”
The statement coming out from the December 9-11 gathering further states that, “Venezuela is not a vassal state of the United States and its government is duty bound to defend its sovereignty against all threats, especially those threats by the United States which only seek to steal and rob the oil assets of the Venezuelan people”.
