Best Lit House multiple winner, Jimmy Samuel may bow out after 2025

AN 85-YEAR-OLD RILL HILL resident who has competed in the Best Lit House competition for almost two decades, is preparing to compete again this year, but it may be his last.
Back when Jimmy Samuel’s mother was alive, he was advised by another man to participate in the Best Lit House competition.
“I say ‘what kind of competition’? He said ‘it get light up competition’. I said well, I don’t know anything about it,” Samuel told SEARCHLGHT, adding that this man contacted the judges to assess his house.
After Samuel’s house was judged, he placed second in the competition that year and has been competing every year after that, except for the time he had knee surgery and was out of state, and last year when he was bedridden.
