Nurses urging more persons to become blood donors
WHENYOU DONATE blood, you not only help to save a life, you are given a full medical check-up that is beneficial.
Nurse Rachael Greaves, who draws blood at the blood bank of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), said that persons who are 17 years and older can give blood, and she is encouraging persons to become voluntary donors.
“…when you come to the blood bank, we assess you, make sure that you’re physically fit, and then we have other procedure that we do to fulfil the whole process of blood donation,” she explained.
“We encourage you to be donors, as we would always want blood to be readily available for persons receiving blood at any point in time.
