Claimant feels vindicated in union’s case against the PSC
A CLAIMANT in the legal challenge brought by the Public Service Union (PSU), against the appointment of then Clerk and Deputy Clerk of the House of Assembly, Deborah Charles and Simone Huggins respectively, is advising fellow public servants to seek help from the union when they face injustice rather than turning to social media.
The High court last Thursday, December 4, 2025, ruled in favour of the PSU in its case against the Public Service Commission (PSC), where the union charged that the two House of Assembly employees were illegally and unfairly appointed.
The union expanded on the court’s ruling at a media briefing yesterday, December 8, 2025.
Celena McDonald said that when both positions of Clerk of the House and Deputy Clerk of the House were filled she noticed that there were no advertisements, nor was she summoned for any interviews.
