Several Vincentians in UK military dodge the proverbial bullet
SEVERAL VINCENTIAN soldiers attached to military units in the United Kingdom (UK), who were part of war games which were recently held on Salisbury Plain escaped unhurt when a fault by the Ajax armoured vehicles made several of their colleagues unwell.
According to a report from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in the UK, about 30 soldiers became ill while training in the Ajax armoured vehicles. The soldiers became unwell from noise and vibration, with some of them emerging vomiting from the vehicles, while others were shaking so violently they could not control their bodies after the military exercise in Wiltshire, which took place over the weekend of the November, 21 2025.
A Vincentian in the military said at least one soldier he knows was hospitalised with “serious” motor skill issues and commented that the Ajax armoured fighting vehicle programme is a problematic one. Research shows that initial demonstrations of the Ajax vehicle were held in 2020 and 2021 and revealed then that the armoured vehicles were plagued by excessive vibration and noise. Back then, testing was halted after 11 soldiers were placed under long-term medical monitoring amid reports of tinnitus and hearing loss.
