Regional leaders send congratulations to Dr. Friday

TRINIDAD ANDTOBAGO’S Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bessesar, was also among regional leaders to send early congratulations to Dr. Godwin Friday.

“Tonight, I congratulate the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on a successful general election, where a resounding democratic mandate was given to the New Democratic Party (NDP) and Dr. Godwin Friday, the Prime Minister Elect,” the Trinidad and Tobago leader wrote on Thursday night.

“I commend the citizens of Saint Vincent for upholding the highest ideals of democracy.

“May God bless the newly elected government as they begin this new chapter of service to the people of Saint Vincent.”

From Barbados, that country’s Prime Minister, Mia Mottley, was also early in her congratulations to Dr. Friday and his New Democratic Party.

“I’d like to congratulate Dr Godwin Friday and the New Democratic Party on their victory in St Vincent & the Grenadines’ General Elections,” Mottley said.

“Barbados looks forward to working with you to deepen cooperation between our two nations and to build a more stable and united region.”
