Minor charged for assaulting women
THE Chateaubelair Magistrate’s Court will, on January 14, 2026, hear from a minor who is charged with possession of an offensive weapon, and two counts of criminal assault.
The minor, of Rose Hall, was arrested on November 22, 2025, and accused of having in his possession a cutlass in the Rose Hall public road; and assaulting two women- a 43-year-old caretaker and a 55-year-old retiree- by waving the cutlass above their heads with the intent to commit the offence of wounding.
The offences were allegedly committed on Saturday, November 22, 2025 and after being arrested and charged, the minor was given station bail in the sum of EC$3,000 with one surety and told to attend the Chateaubelair Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 for trial.
