Court fines man who faced six drug charges $8 000

A RICHMOND/SION HILL MAN was fined over $8,000 for illegally possessing and trafficking cannabis.

Kafele Andrews, along with two other men, appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Colin John, on November 17, 2025. Andrews was charged that on November 5, 2025 at Troumaca, he had in his possession 333 grammes of cannabis; 9,249 grammes of cannabis; and 2,270 grammes of cannabis- a controlled drug- with intent to supply it to another.

Each of the men was given three more charges for trafficking the drugs. Andrews admitted to the offence, while the other men denied it.

The court heard that on the date in question, PC 990 and a party of Rapid Response Unit officers headed for the Troumaca Bay area in search of a white car suspected of having controlled drugs, firearms and ammunition.
