Caesar calls on Bruce to say why he was removed from NUSS
The Unity Labour Party’s candidate for South Central Windward in the November 27, 2025 general elections, Saboto Caesar, has requested his opponent to state why he was removed from the compound of the North Union Secondary School (NUSS).
“Let Israel Bruce, if he name man, tell us why he was removed from the North Union Secondary School. You want to play man … come tomorrow morning go ‘pon Hot 97 and tell the country why the Ministry of Education removed you from the North Union Secondary School,” Caesar said as he addressed supporters at a ULP meeting in higher Lowmans on Wednesday night, November 19, 2025.
Caesar the current Minister of Agriculture, related to those at the meeting, “I want to say to Israel Bruce, your days are done. South Central Windward is labour territory.”
He claimed that Bruce’s move to try and defend someone who had robbed his wife has not endeared him to the NDP South Central Windward candidate but he would engage his opponent on the basis of principle.
“…I want to say to you here tonight if anybody do anything to anybody for Israel Bruce I am a lawyer too; don’t come to me…don’t come to me …you know why…because he’s a parliamentary colleague and you must have respect for people.”
Caesar also related that recently a man went to the constituency office and told him that “last election, he made a mistake and voted for Israel Bruce. I watched the man in the face. He said, ‘but let me tell you something.’” Caesar said the man made certain allegations and concluded that he wanted no part of Bruce “and his crew” because “they would destroy this constituency”.
Caesar reminded those at the meeting of his origins.
“I’m from the bowels of the working class people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I was raised among you and by you, and I want to thank you tonight for your dedication to me and your love to me and I will come to serve people.”
He went on to say, “Agriculture is in my blood. My father, when I was a child, was a banana farmer. I dig banana hole. I plant banana. I have a special love for the farmers of South Central Windward and of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in my heart. Comrades, we have a nation to build together”.
Caesar promised that in a new ULP term “…when we are returned to office… from the next Monday, we will ensure that not only dasheen will be buying at Lauder’s, but we’ll be buying commodities so that the farmers can grow it and take it there and get paid…money in the pockets of our farmers”.
He made reference to the ULP manifesto that outlines the party’s further plans for farmers.
“We will continue to assist the farmers with fertilizer. We’ll continue to assist the farmers with markets. We’ll continue to assist the farmers with tractor services. You are accustomed to the Unity Labour Party, and the help that we continue to give to the farmers of this country…you voted for us and we continue to deliver”.
