Dr Doris Charles says thanks
LEADER OF THE National Liberation Movement (NLM), Dr. Doris Charles, has thanked the people of the constituency of South Leeward for their demonstration of confidence by nominating her to contest for that seat in the November 27, 2025 general elections.
“…I extend my sincerest thanks to each and every one of you who has placed your confidence in me by nominating me to represent the South Leeward Constituency under the banner of the National Liberation Movement (NLM),” Dr. Charles said in a short statement following her nomination on Monday, November 10, 2025.
“This moment is not just about a nomination- it is about the faith of a people who are ready for transformation, for accountability, and for a future built on integrity and unity. I am humbled beyond words to accept this call to serve, and I praise Almighty God for guiding us to this point in our nation’s journey.”
She added that the NLM “has stood from its inception in 2022 as a movement of change- one committed to building a fairer, stronger, and more transparent St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Our symbol, the bicycle, speaks to our shared values of forward movement, progressive thinking, and healthy living. It reminds us that every pedal forward, though requiring effort, brings progress, balance, and momentum toward a better tomorrow”.
Dr. Charles will vie for the South Leeward seat with incumbent, Nigel Stephenson of the New Democratic Party, and Grenville Williams of the Unity Labour Party.
Dr Charles said, “ the time has come for a new era- one marked by accountability, pragmatism, loyalty, integrity, transparency, equity, and meritocracy. These are not mere words; they are the pillars upon which the NLM will continue to build”.
