NDP vice-president tells Central Leeward voters not to lose hope

Vice-President of the New Democratic Party (NDP), Nigel ‘Nature’ Stephenson said the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), want a decent quality of life.

Stephenson was speaking last Friday evening, October, 10, 2025, at a meeting of the party in Barrouallie where he said the people of this country want to be able to pay bills, send their children to school and have proper health care, intimating they cannot do so at present.

Stephenson told the gathering in the Central Leeward constituency that some people have no money, and that they are deprived of the basic necessities of life.

Citing low wages and high prices, Stephenson concluded that some persons are basically “working for nothing” because they have to be constantly borrowing money to make ends meet.
