Venezuela, Cuba Ambassadors denounce American aggression in the Caribbean Sea
SOLIDARITY SVG, a group in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG)that stands in solidarity with Venezuela, last Thursday, September, 25, 2025, organised a rally in capital, Kingstown, to protest the build up of US military troops and weapons in the Caribbean sea; to support Venezuela; and to advocate for peace in the region.
Among those present and speaking at the event were the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Perez Santana, and his Cuban counterpart, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry.
“Today, I address you with the responsibility of informing you about a reality that threatens peace in our region,” Ambassador Santana told the gathering.
He said the military build-up was camouflaged, “Under the pretext of a so-called war on drug trafficking.” “However, we all know that this argument is nothing more than a façade to justify a strategy of intimidation and domination over Venezuela and the free peoples of the Caribbean,” the Venezuelan diplomat said.
“Under the current administration of Donald Trump, the U.S. has concentrated a military force unprecedented since the 1980s…more than 15 warships, nearly a dozen aircraft, a nuclear submarine, and 7,000 troops stationed in the southern Caribbean, right off the Venezuelan coast. Under the guise of fighting drug trafficking, attacks have been carried out that cost the lives of citizens branded as ‘narco-terrorists,’ in operations conducted in international waters without trial or clear evidence … violating the most basic principles of international law and human rights,” the ambassador stated.
