King selected again for the ULP in West St George
To the haunting timeless reggae melody of Jimmy Cliff’s classic ‘Journey’, Curtis King, who was selected as the candidate for the Unity Labour Party (ULP) to again contest for the West St George Constituency in the upcoming general election.
“I sense the spirit in this room…. The journey continues,… I’m very proud of the government,” King told party supporters on Saturday, September, 6, 2025 at the West St George Secondary School where the ULP Constituency Council for that constituency was making its candidate selection.
King told the audience that development is a process, “That is why we always look at this quest for the enhancement of the quality of our citizens. That is why this journey will be a chance for this wonderful country. The great journey. The strategic action of the government to enhance the lives of our people”.
King, who was first elected in 2020, said that the government is engaging in strategic intervention to enhance the lives of residents. One example of this was that one of the “first things we did in this struggle was to offer land to the people of Queensland at the ridiculous price of 50 cents per square foot”.
