Music Man dies in UK

CALYPSO LOVERS in St Vincent and the Grenadines are mourning the loss of Vincentian calypsonian, Michael Nanton, known as Music Man.

Music Man died in England on Tuesday August 19.

Originally from Georgetown, Nanton was the brother of popular social media personality Georgeitha Nanton, also known as Aunty G.

In a facebook page announcing his death, Nanton said she was doing so with deep sadness.

“We shared countless cherished memories together, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.”

She said her brother was passionate about music, and made significant contributions to the calypso art form.

Michael who also lived in Bequia before migrating to England, was a member of the Bequia Calypso Tent.

Nanton said her brother was also a member of the Graduates Calypso Tent and the Calypso Association Tent in England.

Michael died at the age of 59, after a prolonged illness.
